Finlands only Swedish Sunday school museum is located in Maxmo.

Svanhild Petrolay was the cousin, nanny and maid of the priest Daniel Orädd and she came with when the family moved to Maxmo. She liked living in Maxmo so well that she stayed behind when the family moved again. Orädd then bought her a cottage and she was hired at the call centre.

A short time after Svanhild "Svani" came to Maxmo in 1934, she set up a Sunday school in her little cottage. The work was without pay, but she enjoyed it so much that she continued for 48 years. The classes could be pretty big, sometimes 20–30 children attended. She didn't have that many seats in her cottage so she sewed pillows that the children could use to sit on the floor.

The museum is open by appointment.
